Hack'D 2E Ready to Go...

It's been a VERY busy few weeks. I did a 5-week substitute gig while also directing A Midsummer Night's Dream. Both things worked out well, and it was all very rewarding. In the random time I've been able to find, I've been working on Hack'D and Slash'D, and I can say with confidence...

The Second Edition of Hack'D & Slash'D is done! I've spent a good chunk of time playing a group of higher level characters through a section of the second level of the Halls of Moridis, and into combat against several monsters. I got to test out some spells, work out kinks in some of the monster abilities, and clarify language in several areas. I also played a half dozen different level 1 characters through different combat scenarios, and tested out some of the new tags and spells. I'm really, really happy with this book, and I think that it's ready to publish.

But I'm going to wait. The reality is that there's no particular reason to get this out and about right now, and I really want it to have all of the little kinks worked out. My only point of 'meh' is that it doesn't have as much room for artwork as I'd like. I really wanted it to be in the digest size and saddle stitched, and 48 pages is the most that I can print in that format. I trimmed the monster section from 15 pages to 8 (no worries, there will be an online bestiary where they are all available sooner than later), but to cram in everything meant that I had minimal room for illustrations.

Eventually, I will take that link down and put it up for sale on DriveThru, but I figure if you make your way to my blog, at least I can give you a preview of the game.
