The grandson of earth’s legendary hero Doc Stalwart, Sky Stalwart was whisked across time and space in a cosmic accident, waking from hibernation on the mysterious icy moon called Banquo’s Tooth.

Notes:

I decided that he got his grandfather's intellect, but not his physical capabilities; he has to rely on his wits more than brute strength. I kept the basic design of Doc's costume, but gave it a few more futuristic (as of the 1950s) flourishes. This is definitely a Buck Rogers / Flash Gordon far more than he's a Luke Skywalker. Those familiar with my games can see a few small changes in the stat block; I am widening out the bonuses for attributes (getting a +1 modifier every 4 rather than every 3 points), I have changed Move to a meter scale (you can travel your move in meters each round as a free action, and can travel double your move using an action). A round is now 3 seconds, and a turn is now 30 seconds. He can fire his pistol 4 times in 3 seconds, which feels about right for a mid-level swashbuckling hero of the stars.

  1. Sky Stalwart is here! Woo! The art is great, of course, and the stat block raises some questions: if the mods are being spread out , does that mean that the "benchmarks" are being spread out farther? Like, a STR of 134 is no longer "superhuman," etc? I was wondering about this when you established that this game is set in the future of the Stalwart Age; are there still superpowers available, or have those gone away for some reason, other than "this is a sci-fi-fi game?"

  2. There are still super powers. The 'epic' break point will be at 13; there are bumps at 5, 9, 13, 17, and 21. It felt more old school to have lower bonuses, whereas the supers game needs them more. The game is hewing more Guardians of the Galaxy than Star Wars, so higher stats and super powers are baked in.

    1. Oh, wow, I didn't expect super powers! This should be a very interesting read, indeed! Must...know...more! :)

    2. And as you may have guessed, I meant "STR of 13" up there, not "134"...heh.
